Deirdre Foley LMT, CST
Deirdre has been working as a massage therapist for over 22 years. She attended the Stillpoint School of Massage in Hatfield, Massachusetts where she completed an academic and an experiential curriculum in Swedish and sports techniques desiring knowledge of a variety of methods to use on a wide range of people and situations.
Recognizing that people respond well to different levels and pressures of touch, she additionally sought a light touch method to complement her school learnings. To that end she completed the Craniosacral certification to the Advanced level at the Upledger Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch, deep reaching, whole body healing technique that focuses on the fascia (the connective tissues that surrounds everything in the body). This method can be useful in many situations ranging from easing general structural tensions to those of old chronic problems, as well as the general system shock of acute injuries such as car accident injuries. Craniosacral Therapy can also promote an awareness of the various forms the body has of revealing its wisdom, often below one’s general consciousness. Combining these various approaches along with pinpointed exercises can encourage long lasting healing for clients with multiple issues. Deirdre is also certified in cancer massage.
Deirdre continues to pursue effective alternate methods to minimize pain during treatment while addressing the issues at hand. She seeks to have active relationships with her clients during their work together, asking them to participate in creating the best possible outcome for each session through breath work and other increased body awareness techniques.
She enjoys the mutual excitement of discovering underlying causes of pain and dysfunction, as well as the many ways the body can adapt, change and heal through concerted attention. An appointment can be scheduled through Wood Family Chiropractic Center, 770 424 4804.
Greg is passionate about others wellness. He knows first hand what it is like suffering from chronic pain while recovering from a serious car accident. He suffered from intense migraines, nausea, neck and upper back pain and pinched nerves. He benefited from orthopedic massage therapy coordinated with stretching and strengthening exercises which helped correct these conditions.
After deciding to seek a new career path, he wanted to help others live a more pain free and comfortable life. He studied at The Academy of Somatic Healing Arts and completed a 921 hour curriculum focusing on anatomy, sports integration and neuromuscular therapy. This training has allowed him to offer his clients effective advantages towards injury prevention, actual results from the treatment of sports injuries, slip and fall accidents, vehicular accidents, structural and postural stress and imbalances and pre/post surgical procedures. This new career path has been extremely rewarding. It has given him the opportunity to help improve the quality of life of so many people.
